Alzheimer Bibliography of Biographies and Personal Stories http://www.alz.org/ Links to Incontinence/ Products and Accessories/Web Sites Home Delivery Incontinent Supplies Co., Inc. 1215 Dielman industrial Court, Olivette, MO 63132 1/800 269-4663 l www.hdis.com Whether you choose to shop for incontinence products over-the-phone or on-line this company offers the caregiver a full range of products, fast, easy home delivery, they honor coupons, have representatives available for questions and can help alleviate much of the confusion over which products to use. A full color catalogue is available upon request. I feel this company is a must for caregivers facing Alzheimer's disease. The first time I walked into a drug store with the intent of buying that first bag I found it was not only intimidating staring at that wall of products, I was also confused as to what to buy. This company offers caregivers the option of learning about the various products in the comfort of their own home. I highly recommend that every caregiver orders a copy of this catalogue. Eldercare On Line. Richard O'Boyle has put together one of the most complete caregiver oriented web pages I have seen. I recommend it highly to those who wish to experience the softer, more human side of how this disease affects families and those who get it. I hope you will check this site out and spend some time with it. http://www.ec-online.net.
Ageless Design. Mark Warner wrote: The Complete Guide to Alzheimer's-Proofing Your Home Warner, Mark., Ageless Design., Purdue University Press, West Lafayette, Indiana 1998 I've reviewed this book under "Books I found Helpful," at the top of this page. I was very impressed with the practical way in which Mr. Warner approached home care issues for caregivers facing this disease. The web site he developed in no less complete and oriented to the every day needs of caregivers. I highly recommend both the book and the web site which should be included in your 'favorites' in my opinion. ewarner@agelessdesign.com
National Family Caregivers Association NFCA is a grass roots organization created to educate, support, empower and speak up for the millions of Americans who care for chronically ill, aged or disabled loved ones. NFCA is the only constituency organization that reaches across the boundaries of different diagnoses, different relationships and different life stages to address the common needs and concerns of all family caregivers. http://www.nfcacares.org/
A Year to Remember: Brenda Sibley has put together a site that not only shares her experience with Alzheimer's Disease but she provides resources, books, and lists other caregiver sites that are helpful to those just beginning this journey. What impresses me most about this site is her dedication to empowering caregivers while not losing sight of the humanity and care needs of those living this disease. I highly recommend this site as a valuable resource for caregivers. http://www.zarcrom.com/users/yeartorem/index.html Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Association, 919 North Michigan, Chicago, Illinois 60611-1676.
